NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh criticized the announcement Friday by the federal government that it would be appealing the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal decision ordering compensation be paid to First Nations children.
He said the choice by the government was "wrong" and "deplorable."
Singh also said that if elected, an NDP government would tell Indigenous People on day one that they would not take them to court over funding for children and implement the ruling by the tribunal to pay First Nations children.
